Ray Likes established Likes Insurance Agency in 1976. In addition to his role as agent, Ray’s extensive insurance career includes stints as a life insurance agent, crop insurance adjuster, and forty-year manager of Westervelt Mutual Insurance Company. Ray believes that serving clients first is the foundation of a successful insurance operation. Active in civic, church and social organizations, he served twelve years as an alderman of the Village of Stonington. He and his wife of over sixty years, Faye are parents of four children. Ray enjoys spending time with his twelve grandchildren, meeting old friends from his native Bluffs, Illinois, and watching collegiate sports. Of note, Ray played collegiate basketball at the University of Illinois and Northeast Missouri, a.k.a. Truman State University.
Faye Likes, together with husband Ray, founded Likes Insurance Agency, a family owned business. Faye serves as bookkeeper, diligently tracking finances, and taxes. A natural caregiver, Faye helps in any way, whether at work, home or in the community. A former elementary school teacher, she has belonged to numerous civic organizations. Currently active in the Order of the Eastern Star and the Stonington United Methodist Church, Faye has taken leadership roles in each. Faye enjoys spending time with family, especially grandchildren. She is particularly fond of cats.
Doug Likes joined Likes Insurance as an agent in 1980. Doug helps clients with all aspects of insurance including analyzing needs, offering solutions, fielding questions, and providing claims support. Doug and wife Malinda reside in Decatur where he has held many leadership positions in civic and industry organizations. Doug is an active member of the Mount Zion United Methodist Church. His outside interests include visiting his two adult children in Chicago and Denver, attending University of Illinois basketball games, and working in his basement workshop.
Jeff Likes became an agent for Likes Insurance Agency in 2005, after eighteen years in building construction and sales. Jeff divides his time between agent activities in Stonington and managerial duties at Westervelt Mutual in Westervelt. Jeff aids clients with their needs, customizing insurance solutions to their unique situations. He is treasurer of the Taylorville United Methodist Church and the Stonington Lions Club and is active in the Stonington Masonic Lodge. Always busy, he likes spending time with his children and grandchildren, woodworking, tending chickens, and caring for his rural Taylorville home and property.
Danny Likes joined Likes Insurance Agency in 1993. As an agent, Danny offers solutions and advice for his client’s specific insurance needs. Most days you’ll find him on the phone, on the road, or in his office helping customers navigate the uncertainties of insurance. Danny sets the standard in customer-driven service. Together with his wife, Kristi, Danny has three children. An active member of the Stonington Lions Club, the Stonington Masonic Lodge and the Stonington United Methodist Church, Danny holds or has held many leadership positions. In his spare time, Danny enjoys family fun, kid activities, and tending his lawn and garden. He’d like to do more fishing, if only he had the time!
